The value of the Turkic languages was acknowledged
On the eve of the World Day of Turkic Languages, which is celebrated on December 15, the scientific and educational event "Төл тілің – төлқұжатың" was held at the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi.
The purpose of the event is to emphasize the importance of the ancient Turkic language, to popularize the value of the native language and to strengthen the interest of young people in studying the Turkic linguistic heritage.

At the opening, Shynarai Burkitbayeva, Head of the Department of Manuscripts at the Scientific Research Institute of Turkology and Altaic Studies of KazNU, spoke about the role of ancient Turkic writing in modern science. According to her, students' interest in historical texts is growing from year to year.
"Today, young researchers pay special attention to Turkological science, in particular, the study of the Orkhon-Yenisei monuments. Our youth is striving to better understand the nature of the ancient Turkic, Runic and Chagatai scripts, expanding the research field," she said.

The students presented their projects dedicated to the development of ancient scripts. Katerina Taran spoke about the possibilities of teaching Runic writing through a lexical approach, Anel Askar demonstrated the work of a website dedicated to Orkhon inscriptions. Balnur Kozhaikhan and Ayaulim Adilzhan presented materials on the philosophical aspects of the ancient Turkic language, and Yeldana Tabanova presented a website about the culture of the Turkic peoples developed by her.


During the event, a scientific and educational game "Koone tilim - tiregim" was held, which included questions about language, history and national values. Experts emphasized that the study of ancient writings is not only a linguistic work, but also an important way to comprehend the national historical memory and cultural code.
