Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the most important public holidays in the country's history. This day is celebrated annually on December 16. On the same day in 1991, the Constitutional Law "On the State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was adopted, which recognized Kazakhstan as an independent, sovereign state.

Independence is the result of the centuries-old dream and struggle of our people. Over the years of sovereignty, Kazakhstan has achieved great success in the political, economic and social spheres. The national symbols of the country have been approved, the original Constitution, membership in international organizations and the definition of its place in the world community have been adopted. In independent Kazakhstan, special attention is paid to issues of education, science, culture and youth policy. The state recognizes young people as the backbone of the country's future and implements large-scale programs aimed at developing their intellectual potential.

Independence Day is a great holiday that pays tribute to the past, appreciates today's achievements and encourages us to look to the future with confidence. This day forms in the hearts of every Kazakhstani a sense of pride and responsibility for the country.

In this regard, on December 11, an open curatorial hour was held on the theme "Independence is the key to a bright future", organized by students of the educational groups 107-108 Chemistry.

The main purpose of the event is to form a civic position among students, strengthen a sense of patriotism, deepen knowledge about the historical stages and achievements of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among the OUN Sustainable Development Goals, the Independence Day event corresponds to the following areas: Goal 4 - "Quality education" and Goal 16 - "Peace, justice and effective institutions".

During the curatorial hour, the ways of socio-economic, political and cultural development of the country during the years of independence were comprehensively discussed. The students expressed their opinion about Kazakhstan's place in the international arena, about national identity and the importance of being an independent country. In addition, videos and presentations prepared in accordance with the theme were presented.

The open curatorial hour was an educational event that contributed to the formation of students' historical consciousness and increased responsibility for the fate of the country.
