A SPIRITUAL LECTURE FILLED WITH EDIFICATION
SDG-4 To introduce future journalists to the legacy of Alash journalism, an open lesson on «History of Kazakh Journalism» was held on December 6, 2025, by Associate Professor and Researcher, Candidate of Philological Sciences Rimma Zhaksylykbaeva, on the topic «History of the Press: Individuals Who Raised the Voice of the Nation». Six groups prepared on the following topics: for the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev, «Abai’s journalism and the magazine «Abai» at the top of its time”, «The national democratic newspaper «Kazakh», the first Kazakh magazine «Aikap» and the national intelligentsia», «The Mastery of Chief Editors on the Historical Path of the Ushkyn Newspaper» («Egemen Қazaқstan»), «The History of the Zhas Alash Newspaper: Past and Present», «The Journalistic Style of Mustafa Shokai», and also, for the 140th anniversary of Mirzhakyp Dulatov's birth, the theme is «The Journalistic Path of Mirzhakyp Dulatov».
As a result, the students were able to portray complex stages in the history of the press through dramatization, reflecting the life goals of Alash activists Akhmet Baitursynov, Mustafa Shokai, Mirzhakyp Dulatov, Saken Seifullin, Mukhamedzhan Seralin, and others, demonstrating not only their knowledge but also their acting skills. Thus, the role of the poet Abai was performed by Onerbay Balganym, Mustafa Shokai by Makhash Ramazan, his wife Maria by Maglumbek Meyirim, the writer Mukhtar Auezov by Olzhabay Medina, Sabita Donentaeva by Sagyndyk Ayazhan, Gumara Karashev by Raushanova Zhansaya, while showing considerable efforts are made in revealing the images of these individuals. Nurlybekkyzy performed Abai's song «Kozimnің қarasy» touchingly, Gulzina Orynbasar recited poems dedicated to Abai, and Nurkhozha Tlek shared his own heartfelt verses. Oralbek Arshyn's rendition of the kyui added a special atmosphere to the open lesson.
Students learned a lot and had an unforgettable experience during the open lesson, which was held as part of the «History of Kazakh Journalism» course.
