KazNU student awarded the medal "Sports Ambassador of Peace"

Yeldar Shekerbek, a student of the Law Faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a famous athlete, marathon swimmer, was awarded the medal "Sports Ambassador of Peace".

According to the results of the 2024-25 academic years, Yeldar Shekerbek was nominated for this award by the Republican Public Association "Ер намысы" under the auspices of UNESCO among athletes of Kazakhstani higher educational institutions for outstanding sporting achievements and contribution to the popularization of Kazakhstan in the international arena. The award ceremony took place at the International Cultural Unity Center in Almaty.

Yeldar Shekerbek is the winner of the Bosphorus swim, IRONMAN 70.3 – Turkey, the champion of Kazakhstan in open water swimming at distances of 2 km, 5 km and 10 km; the absolute champion of Asia at a distance of 5 km; the world champion in the 3×500 m relay; silver and bronze medalist of the international swim in the Persian Gulf at a distance of 10 (UAE); European champion in the 10 km distance (Spain), as well as the winner of the 2023-24 Universiade.
