Doctoral students of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies conducted information and awareness-raising activities in schools aimed at preventing extremism and terrorism
As part of pedagogical practice, doctoral students and learners of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies conducted informational and educational activities aimed at preventing extremism and terrorism at School-Gymnasiums No. 143, No. 161, No. 43, No. 107, and No. 109 located in the Zhetysu District. These meetings were organized in response to the increasing cases of adolescents being influenced by various radical movements.
During the events, school students were shown video materials highlighting the risks and threats present in social media and the online environment, and were provided with comprehensive information about the negative impact of radical religious organizations on society and the national security of the state. In addition, a detailed presentation was given on the “Islamic Studies” academic program, which plays an important role in preventing such negative phenomena and in countering them.
The meetings were attended by school administrations and teaching staff. At the conclusion of the events, the students’ relevant and engaging questions were answered thoroughly and informatively.
