SDG 4: «Quality education»
As part of the course “Interdisciplinary Approaches”, an interfaculty round table will be held on the topic “City and Culture: Interdisciplinary Approaches to the Study of Almaty.” The purpose of the event is to examine the city as a complex social, cultural, and spatial phenomenon from the perspectives of various academic disciplines.
Participants will include students and faculty members from different faculties, including the Faculty of Geography, which will make it possible to analyze Almaty through the lenses of urban studies, cultural studies, history, sociology, and geography.
The discussion will focus on the interaction between urban environment and cultural identity, the dynamics of spatial development of the metropolis, and the role of cultural practices in shaping the image of modern Almaty. The round table aims to promote interdisciplinary academic dialogue and to identify new research approaches to understanding the city as a cultural space.
