A delegation of the Department of Science and Technology of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, headed by Deputy Chief Gilili Halili, paid a working visit to the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The honorary guests were received and held a working meeting by Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Board, Vice–Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of the Al‑Farabi Kazakh National University.
In his welcoming speech, he thanked the delegation for their interest in developing bilateral academic, scientific and technological cooperation.
The Vice-Rector stressed that the university is ready to expand academic exchanges, attract professors and students, as well as develop applied projects in the field of digital technologies, robotics and applied research.
In his speech, Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology of the Xinjiang People's Republic of China Gilili Halili expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted the department's interest in strengthening scientific and technological cooperation with KazNU. He said that the department, which is a regional executive authority and part of the People's Government of the XUAR, focuses its activities on the implementation of an innovation development strategy, the formation of scientific and technical plans, infrastructure support and technology transfer. At the end of his speech, he expressed his willingness to work together to create research platforms and project coordination.
During the exchange of views, the parties discussed specific areas for further cooperation: the development of academic exchange programs, the launch of joint laboratories and applied projects, including in agriculture, ecology and energy-efficient technologies. The cooperation will be based on KazNU's existing ties with leading universities in China and the experience of implementing joint educational programs and research initiatives.
