Charity event at the "Shanyrak" center
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — as part of the “Ainalańdy nurlandır” project, first- and second-year students of the Kazakh-language track of the Finance educational program at the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with curator-advisers of the Department of Finance and Accounting — G. I. Supugaliyeva and T. B. Zhumadilova — visited the “Shanyraq” Social Services Center (KSU) on December 22, 2025, as part of a charitable initiative and created a map of Kazakhstan for the center.
The students organized a festive event to uplift the spirits of elderly residents who, by the will of fate, now live in this center. The Shanyraq Social Services Center consistently strives to provide a comfortable and safe environment for its residents; however, visits by young people make their daily lives even more joyful and diverse. Such initiatives not only bring positive emotions but also support efforts aimed at social integration and the well-being of both elderly people and youth.
Thanks to the active involvement of young people, caring for the older generation is becoming an integral part of society. The main goal of the event was to offer warmth and joy, even if only for a moment, to the hearts of the elderly residents. The youth communicated with them, shared thoughts, and listened attentively to their stories and life experiences. We believe that such meetings foster kindness, compassion, and humanity in young people.
