“Cybersecurity Basics: Your Data Is Your Shield”

Within the framework of the 2025–2026 academic year, an educational session titled “Cybersecurity Basics: Your Data Is Your Shield” was held at the student dormitory with the aim of improving students’ digital literacy and fostering a culture of personal data protection.

During the event, students were introduced to the fundamental concepts of cybersecurity and informed about the value of personal data and the importance of protecting it. The session covered key topics such as rules for creating strong passwords, the use of two-factor authentication, ways to avoid phishing websites and suspicious links, and the risks of sharing personal information on social media, all illustrated with practical examples.

In addition, information was provided on observing security measures when using public Wi-Fi networks, monitoring permissions granted to mobile applications, and common types of cybercrime. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange opinions based on situations they encounter in everyday life.

The session was conducted in an interactive format, which increased student engagement. As a result, participants enhanced their cybersecurity skills and gained a deeper understanding of the responsibility involved in protecting personal information.
