Exchange of experience with Chinese universities is intensifying
KazNU hosted a meeting with a delegation from Tsinghua University of China and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). The parties discussed issues of deepening cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of science, education and high technologies.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Board – First Vice-Rector of KazNU Erkin Duissenov noted that the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China has moved to a new stage. According to him, today cooperation in the fields of science, education and technology is becoming not only a bridge for strengthening ties between the two countries, but also an important tool for building a sustainable and peaceful future. In this process, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University unites scientists, engineers and students from Kazakhstan, China and all over Central Asia as a leading platform for scientific diplomacy.
Currently, KazNU closely cooperates with 94 universities and organizations of the People's Republic of China. Among them are Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai University of Foreign Languages, Shanghai University of Politics and Law, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Lanzhou University, Harbin University of Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, and the China National Nuclear Corporation. Today, there are 2018 students from the People's Republic of China studying at the university.
Special attention was paid at the meeting to the activities of the branch of the Northwestern Polytechnic University of China, operating on the basis of KazNU. The work of the branch team led by the Rector of Yue was highly appreciated.

Also at the meeting, Yang Igan, Deputy Dean of the Department of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University, Director of the TUNEM program, noted the importance of joint educational programs and research projects. Yin Shijun, Director of the Central Asia Center of the Chinese National Nuclear Corporation, outlined the prospects for scientific and industrial cooperation in the field of nuclear technology.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged views and discussed in detail concrete steps aimed at further developing partnership between Kazakhstan and China in the field of higher education, science and innovation.
