A Round Table and Excursion for International Students Held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (SDGs 4 and 9)
At the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a round table discussion and an introductory excursion were organized for international students. The event was aimed at fostering international academic cooperation and integrating students into the University’s scientific and educational environment.
As part of the round table, Deputy Dean for Research, Innovation and International Relations, Associate Professor S. L. Peshaya, delivered a presentation on the Faculty’s activities, highlighting its educational programs, research areas, infrastructure, and approaches to modern engineering and physics education.
The event brought together first-year students from Turkmenistan, China, Bangladesh, Sudan, Nigeria, and Afghanistan, who became acquainted with the Faculty’s academic and research activities, as well as the goals and methods of contemporary higher education. It was emphasized during the meeting that the Faculty of Physics and Technology is one of the leading faculties in higher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the excursion program, international students visited the National Open Laboratory of Nanotechnology, as well as the specialized SAMSUNG and HUAWEI laboratories, where they were introduced to advanced scientific equipment, applied research, and innovative developments.

Equal access for international students to information on the Faculty’s academic and research opportunities and modern educational practices was ensured. - SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
The research and innovation infrastructure of the Faculty and the University was demonstrated, including the National Open Laboratory of Nanotechnology and the SAMSUNG and HUAWEI laboratories.
