Rector of KazNU took part in the section of the V National Kurultai

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev took part in the meeting of the Education and Science section of the V National Kurultai, where he outlined key approaches to the development of science and the prospects of higher education.

In his speech, the rector emphasized the importance of university science and the role of supercomputing technologies in the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence. He noted that supercomputing resources are an important element of scientific sovereignty and the basis for advanced research.

On the basis of KazNU, these technologies are used to create large language models in Kazakh, improve climate modeling, as well as to implement scientific initiatives of students and young scientists in the field of artificial intelligence.

Special attention was paid to the issues of updating educational programs, introducing digital solutions, strengthening research activities and training personnel who meet the requirements of a research university. According to the rector, the development of AI projects and new professional training formats for young people are among the strategic priorities of the university.

The section also addressed issues of improving the quality of education, transforming the educational process and supporting scientific research. The discussions were attended by university rectors, scientists, experts, as well as representatives of government, educational organizations and business structures.
