Joint Meeting Held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Al-Farabi KazNU
On January 21, 2026, a Dean’s Office meeting was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. During the meeting, it was noted that Senior Lecturer Dauletbayeva Saniya Bolatovna was elected as Vice-Dean for Academic and Methodological Affairs, and that Associate Professor Sarsekeyeva Fariza Kudaybergenovna was appointed as Head of the Department of Biotechnology.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Kurmanbayeva Meruert Sakenovna; the Vice-Dean for Research, Innovation and International Relations, Acting Associate Professor Datkhabayeva Gauhar Kubenovna; the Vice-Dean for Social and Educational Affairs, Acting Associate Professor Kusmangazinov Adil Bolatuly; and the Heads of Departments: Professor Akhtayeva Nursulu Ziyahanovna; Professor Kustubayeva Almira Melsovna; Associate Professor Junusbayeva Zhazira Kabulovna; and PhD Kegenova Gulnar Bolatkyzy.
The meeting aimed to coordinate key tasks related to clarifying the Faculty’s strategic development priorities and strengthening its standing in international rankings. In line with the agenda, participants discussed approaches to improving performance indicators within the QS and Times Higher Education (THE) rankings. Key topics included enhancing education quality, strengthening academic and research productivity, expanding international collaboration and academic mobility, and ensuring systematic, data-driven support of Faculty activities.

Roles and responsibilities by key directions were also clarified. As a result of the meeting, specific tasks were assigned to responsible persons, and key directions for implementing the work plan for the upcoming period were outlined.
