27 january, 2026

A discussion dedicated to issues of constitutional reforms was organized at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science. The event was attended by the Faculty Dean, Bekzhan Berikbayuly, heads of departments, and members of the academic staff.

During the meeting, the importance of the Constitution for societal development, as well as the content and key directions of its improvement process, were discussed. Participants emphasized the need to focus not only on formal changes, but also on how constitutional norms are implemented in real life.

The discussion addressed issues of the rule of law, protection of citizens’ rights, and the effectiveness and accountability of state institutions. Special attention was given to the substantive nature of the reforms. It was noted that constitutional norms should be analyzed not only at the textual level, but also in terms of their practical implementation in society. In this context, the effectiveness of mechanisms for protecting citizens’ rights, the accountability of state institutions, and ensuring the rule of law became the main subjects of discussion.

It was also emphasized that the discussion would be widely explained among students and aimed at increasing their civic engagement. It was noted that young people expressing their views on social media and participating in public discussions contribute to a deeper understanding of the essence of constitutional reforms.
