KazNU Business School has introduced digital diplomas based on blockchain
On January 6, 2026, the Head of State signed a decree declaring 2026 the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, thereby defining the strategic vector of the country's development towards the introduction of advanced technologies in all key areas. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as the country's leading research university, supports the state agenda by actively integrating digital solutions and artificial intelligence tools into educational processes.
As part of the implementation of this strategy, KazNU Business School has launched an innovative project to issue digital diplomas based on blockchain technology. The initiative is aimed at creating a modern system for confirming educational achievements that meets international standards and the requirements of the digital economy.
The creation of the NFT diploma database, which registers both graduates and employers, forms a new approach in the field of HR, focused on accurately matching skills to market requirements, speeding up recruitment processes and improving the quality of employment. For the state, as a key stakeholder, such a system is of additional value due to increased transparency of the labor market, an increase in the share of employment in the specialty and the ability to analyze the effectiveness of educational programs based on objective and verifiable data.
The project will allow university graduates to receive diplomas and academic records in a modern, secure and internationally recognized digital format. The use of blockchain technology ensures the immutability of data, protection against forgery and creates conditions for fast authentication of documents anywhere in the world.
Thus, the introduction of digital diplomas is becoming not only a technological innovation, but also a systemic tool for modernizing the educational environment, integrating universities into the global digital space and increasing the competitiveness of the country's human capital.
