“Ecological Culture as the Foundation of a Sustainable Future”

4 february, 2026

Within the framework of the “Taza Kazakhstan” project, students shared their views on the topic “Ecological Culture as a Guarantee of the Future” with the aim of promoting care for nature through video presentations and a question-and-answer format.

One of the most pressing global challenges today is the environmental crisis. One of the key ways to overcome this crisis is the development of ecological culture among the population. The formation of ecological culture should begin within the education system. As the saying goes, “education starts from a young shoot,” therefore the concept of ecological culture should be introduced from preschool programs and gradually instilled in children. In this regard, universities also offer courses on ecological culture for students, particularly among those majoring in cultural studies.

Often, when we speak of ecological culture, we limit it to a sense of responsibility toward nature. However, it is a much broader concept that is reflected in a person’s daily lifestyle, consumption habits, and the value system of society. If we wish to preserve our natural environment as a legacy for future generations, we must begin developing ecological culture today.
