Language is the core of a nation and a mirror of its culture and history!

On February 4, 2026, at 5:00 PM, in room 229-TDM of the Higher School of Economics and Business, an event was held in line with SDGs 4, 16, and 17, within the framework of civic and patriotic education, on the topic:

“Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Languages and Issues of Using the State Language.”

The event was attended by Bakyt Abyirovich Kalymbet, Head of the Department for Language Development and Onomastics of the Internal Policy Department of Almaty city.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business Zh.Zh. Yermekova, Head of the Department of Economics, Professor G.R. Dauliyeva, Deputy Dean for Educational and Social Affairs I.U. Kuliev, as well as students.

The purpose of the event was to explain to students the key provisions of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on languages, to define the legal status of the state language — the Kazakh language, its role in public life, and to promote respect for other languages.

The guest speaker, Bakyt Abyirovich, provided a comprehensive explanation of the main principles of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Languages,” as well as current issues related to the use of the state language, supported by practical examples and real-life cases.

In conclusion, it was emphasized that the culture of using the state language — the Kazakh language — in governmental, professional, and public spheres is crucial for national unity, stability, and the country’s future.
