On Feburary 4, 2026 at 12.00 in Room 228, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences J.Kh. Salkhanova held a discussion of SDG 11 – «Sustainable Cities and Settlements». The event was organized at the international level with the participation of a representative of the People's Republic of China, doctoral student of KazNU named after al-Farabi KHOU NA. The format of the Round Table was prepared by students of the specialty «International Journalism», they talked about the cities and towns of Kazakhstan and other countries. Toponymic materials were presented in reports and presentations, students Zhanat Aizhan, Marat Nuray, Zhanserik Sayazhan, Zhubandyk Elkhan, Zhaksylyk Zeynegul presented visual information about various regions of Kazakhstan. Zholdasbek Arailym developed a magazine dedicated to the topic under discussion, showed the professional skills of the future journalist. Students Madinova Zhanerke, Maken Algida, Musabekova Ilimzhauhar considered the meaning of the terms: onomastics, toponymy, ethnonym, oikonym, oronym, urbanoim. KHOU NA answered questions about China. In conclusion, the students said that successful sustainable cities and settlements should be the reality of modern Kazakhstan.
