Winter School on Integrating Sustainable Development Goals into Higher Education Held at Al-Farabi KazNU

From January 26 to February 5, 2026, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the Winter School entitled “Integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the Higher Education Teaching Process”, organized by the Smart Marketing and Logistics Center under the Department of Business Technologies.

The event aimed to enhance the professional development of higher education faculty members by strengthening their professional and methodological competencies in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into the content of marketing and logistics courses, as well as into the higher education teaching process as a whole.

The Winter School brought together 21 participants, citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. Within the framework of the program, participants became familiar with modern concepts of sustainable development and the international SDG agenda in the context of marketing and logistics. Key topics included sustainable marketing strategies, responsible consumption and production, green supply chains, sustainable logistics, and ESG approaches to management.

The educational program of the Winter School comprised lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and project-based activities conducted with the participation of leading experts in the fields of marketing, logistics, sustainable development, and management. The interactive format of the event facilitated professional exchange, discussion of current challenges, and the development of practical solutions for integrating sustainability principles into academic curricula.

The primary objective of the Winter School was to create favorable conditions for the systematic professional development of university faculty, promote the integration of Sustainable Development Goals into educational programs and academic disciplines in marketing and logistics, and foster sustainable professional and educational practices oriented toward long-term socio-economic development.

The successful implementation of the Winter School once again highlighted the significant role of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as a leading academic and research institution actively promoting the principles of sustainable development and modern international approaches in higher education.
