Victory of Geobotanists: Congratulations to the Recipients of the Titles “Best University Lecturer – 2025” and “Best Researcher – 2025”!

The contributions of our colleagues to the field of geobotany, as well as to education, have been highly recognized. These achievements represent not only personal success but also a significant contribution to the development of science and education in Kazakhstan. By combining scientific research with teaching and fostering professional and research skills in students, they address one of the key tasks of modern science and education.

 

First of all, Professor Meruert Sakenovna Kurmanbayeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the pride of our faculty, was awarded the title of “Best University Teacher – 2025” for her significant contribution to educational and research work in geobotany. By effectively using modern teaching methods in the educational process, she has greatly contributed to the development of students’ professional skills and scientific thinking. Professor Kurmanbayeva’s organizational abilities, pedagogical mastery, and scientific guidance contribute to the advancement of geobotany and the formation of young researchers.

 

In addition, Orazov Aydyn Yergaliuly—an alumnus of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a PhD graduate of Astana International University, an Associate Professor, and the Head of the “NatureLab” laboratory—was awarded the title “Best University Teacher – 2025” and received a certificate as a laureate of the State Scientific Scholarship. This is a well-deserved recognition of his significant contribution to the effective use of modern teaching methods, the integration of field and laboratory practice into course content, and the development of students’ professional and research skills. Aydyn Yergaliuly contributes greatly not only to delivering theoretical knowledge, but also to fostering practical competencies and scientific thinking among students.

Furthermore, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, PhD, Associate Professor Shyryn Semizbaikyzy Al’merekeva, was awarded the title of “Best Researcher – 2025” for her perseverance in scientific research, the effectiveness of her work, and her contribution to the development of geobotany. Her achievements serve as an important example for young researchers, and her scientific studies help advance new directions in geobotany and inspire student research activities.

Your dedicated work makes a tremendous contribution to the development of our faculty, students, and the entire scientific community.
