«Prevention of Financial Fraud within the Framework of Implementing SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions»
Recently, the media and the public have been actively discussing the pressing issue of combating various forms of organized crime, among which fraudulent schemes have become particularly widespread, often reaching an international scale. This is due to the fact that people of different ages, social statuses, and educational backgrounds can become victims of fraud. Criminals frequently remain unpunished, as they use the latest information technologies, including artificial intelligence.
On February 18, 2026, the Department of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology and Computer Physics held an event titled “Prevention of Financial Fraud” within the framework of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, with the participation of students.
The main objective of the seminar was to improve young people’s financial literacy and explain methods of protection against fraudulent activities. The event was conducted in the form of an open dialogue, where all participants were able to take part directly and freely share their own experiences regarding modern methods of online fraud, fake investment offers, and the risks associated with active use of social media.
The topic of the seminar generated genuine interest among the audience, as participants received practical advice and recommendations on how to protect themselves from fraud.
