On 21.02.26, foreign students from groups PG-16, PG-17, and PG-18 took part in the educational event “Kazakh National Games,” organized by lecturers G. Mashinbayeva, M. Yeshimov, R. Duissenbayeva, and G. Musayeva at the Faculty of Pre-University Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Various types of Kazakh national games were presented to the participants through slides.

During the event, the curator-advisor of group PG-18, G. A. Mashbayeva, introduced the students to traditional Kazakh youth games played indoors. The games presented included “Handkerchief Game,” “Five Stones,” “Asyk,” “Tug of War,” and “Togyzkumalak,” which require strategic thinking and ingenuity.

Afterwards, lecturers M. Yeshimov, G. Musayeva, and R. Duissenbayeva gave a detailed presentation on traditional Kazakh equestrian games. The foreign students showed great interest upon learning that participants in horse games must be strong, agile, and intelligent.

Information was also provided about the Kazakh people’s deep love for horses and their special role in nomadic life (“A horse is a man’s wings”). Such traditional equestrian games as “Kyz Kuu,” “Audaryspak,” and “Kokpar” were demonstrated.
