Zhursin Yerman — People’s Writer of Kazakhstan
SDG-17 KazNU alumni have their own remarkable statistics. To date, the honorary title “People’s Writer” has been awarded to 51 authors. Poet and KazNU graduate Zhursin Yerman has become the 51st recipient of this prestigious title.
Out of the 51 writers who have received the title “People’s Writer,” 15 are graduates of KazNU. In other words, every third holder of this title is a KazNU alumnus. Now among this distinguished group is the poet and renowned master of aitys, Zhursin Moldashuly Yerman. Congratulations!
It is worth recalling that on June 17, 2023, at the second meeting of the National Kurultai titled “Just Kazakhstan – Responsible Citizen,” the Head of State announced the restoration of the honorary title “People’s Writer of Kazakhstan.” Since 2023, the title has been awarded to Tolen Abdik, Smagul Yelubay, Beksultan Nurzhekeuly, Sofy Smatayev, Akhmetzhan Ashirov, Temirkhan Medetbek, Valeriy Mikhailov, Israil Saparbay, Gabbas Kabishuly, and Marfuga Aitkozhina.
