International Conference of students and young scientists "Farabi alemi" (April 8-10, 2026)
Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi invites students and young researchers to participate in the International Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Farabi Alemi," which will be held from April 8 to 10, 2026. The conference is open to students, master's students, and young scientists up to 40 years old from universities and research institutes in Kazakhstan and abroad.
Breakout sessions to be held April 8-10, 2026.
The conference will review the reports of the theoretical, experimental and applied research in various branches of science and scientific inventions.
The languages of the conference are Kazakh, Russian and English.
In the framework of the largest conference of students and young scientists, following sections are to operate at Al-Farabi KazNU Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology:
Session 1. Innovations in Botany and Agroecology
Session 2. Biodiversity, ecology and morphology of animal
Session 3. Modern problems in biophysics, physiology, biological education, biomedicine and neuroscience
Session 4. Actual problems in genetics, molecular biology and ecology
Session 5. Modern problems in biotechnology
Session 6. Start in science (for school students)

Requirements for Abstract Formatting
• The total length of the abstract must not exceed one A4 page (450-500 words or 3200-3500 characters with spaces). An extended length of up to two pages is allowed if figures, tables, or photographs are included.
• Submissions are accepted only in Microsoft Word format (version 2021 or higher) (*.doc, *.docx).
• Page format: A4, portrait orientation.
• Page margins: top – 2 cm, bottom – 2 cm, left – 2 cm, right – 2 cm.
• Headers/footers and page numbering are not allowed.
• Text alignment: justified.
Font and Paragraph Formatting
• Font: Times New Roman or KZ Times New Roman.
• Main text font size: 12 pt.
• Line spacing: single.
• Paragraph indentation: 1 cm.
• Spacing before/after paragraphs: 0 pt.
• The text must be typed without extra spaces, without tabs, and without manual formatting of indents.
Structure and Mandatory Elements of the Abstract
Formatting must strictly follow the structure below (as in the template):
1. Title of the paper:
• must be formatted strictly using the “Heading” style;
• written in UPPERCASE, BOLD letters;
• no line breaks within the title;
• no period at the end of the title;
• centered alignment
2. Author(s)’ full name – bold, 12 pt; surname first, followed by initials.
3. Scientific supervisor (if applicable) – with academic degree and title; bold italic, 12 pt.
4.Affiliation (institution), city, country – indicated in full; bold, 12 pt.
5. Author’s e-mail – mandatory; italic, 10 pt.
6. Keywords: (5-7 keywords/phrases) before the main text, in brackets.
7. Main text of the abstract – structured, logically coherent, without section numbering.
8. Figures, tables, formulas:
• must be embedded directly in the text;
• centered alignment;
• figures and tables must be numbered and captioned (e.g., Fig. 1. – 10 pt);
• table titles should be placed above the table, 10 pt font;
• image quality must be sufficient for printing;
• low-quality screenshots are not permitted.
9. References:
• placed at the end of the abstract;
• sources must be numbered;
• in-text citations must be given in square brackets: [1], [2], etc.;
• font size 10 pt, alignment justified.
Language and Style
• The text must be written in a scientific, academic style, without colloquial expressions.
• The material must be stylistically and grammatically proofread.
• The Organizing Committee does not edit submitted abstracts — materials are published in the author’s original version.
• Spelling and technical errors are not allowed.
Limitations and Additional Requirements
• It is necessary to indicate the relevance of the topic at the beginning of the main text.
• One participant may be an author or co-author of no more than two papers.
• Submissions that do not comply with the formatting requirements or are outside the conference scope will not be accepted for publication.
• In addition to the abstract, the same file must contain author information (application form).
• The file name must include the surname of the first author (e.g., Zhyenbaev_FarabiAlemi_2026.docx).
Participation Conditions
Those wishing to participate in the conference must send the following materials to the e-mail address of the relevant section by March 27, 2026:
1. The abstract formatted in accordance with the requirements;
2. The conference participation application form.
