Al-Farabi's legacy discussed in Athens

The international scientific conference "Al-Farabi and Greek Philosophy" was held at the Kapodistrias Athens National University. The delegation of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the forum. Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two universities.

The conference was devoted to the issues of continuity of the Eastern and Western philosophical traditions, the dialogue of cultures, as well as the importance of al-Farabi's legacy in the context of modern globalization.

The KazNU delegation included Eldos Oserbayev, Head of the Global Partnership Council, Ainur Kurmanalieva, Head of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, and Samet Baizhuma, Senior lecturer. The event was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Greece Timur Sultangozhin, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Greece Arif Baloglan oglu Mammadov, Honorary Consul of Greece to Kazakhstan Ioannis Malkoyannis and international experts.

 

 

The panel discussion was opened by Georgios Steiris, Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Athens, who stressed the importance of expanding academic cooperation between the leading universities of Kazakhstan and Greece.

KazNU scientists presented the university's educational and scientific initiatives, including the course "Al-Farabi and Modernity" and the scientific platform "International Farabi Forum". The relevance of al-Farabi's ideas in modernizing the education system and strengthening the integration of science and education was noted.

The signed memorandum provides for the development of academic mobility, the implementation of joint research projects and the development of dual degree programs.
