INFORMATION LETTER No. II
V INTERNATIONAL FARABI FORUM
Dear Colleagues,
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in cooperation with the international organizations, leading research centers, and local government authorities, will hold the V INTERNATIONAL FARABI FORUM from April 7 to April 11, 2026.
The purpose of the Forum is to provide a contemporary scholarly reinterpretation of the philosophical, scientific, and humanistic legacy of Abu Nasr al-Farabi, as well as to establish a sustainable international platform for scientific dialogue addressing pressing issues of state, societal, and individual development based on his ideas of harmony between science, education, and society. Special attention will be given to interdisciplinary interaction in the fields of artificial intelligence, digitalization, economics, and the humanities.
The Forum also aims to expand interaction between science, education, and society, support young researchers, and establish the Farabi International Forum as an authoritative and sustainable international academic platform.
Objectives of the FORUM:
– Comprehensive study of the philosophical, scientific, and ethical heritage of al-Farabi, scholarly reinterpretation of his ideas in the context of current national and global development priorities, and their integration into sustained academic discourse;
– Transformation of Farabi studies into a continuous field of scholarly research rather than limiting it to anniversary events, and the establishment of a permanent international platform for academic dialogue;
– Discussion of contemporary issues of state, individual, and societal development based on the humanistic and rational views of al-Farabi, and identification of priority directions of modern humanitarian thought;
– Development of interdisciplinary interaction among artificial intelligence, digitalization, economics, humanities, media, and education based on al-Farabi’s ideas on the harmony of science, education, and society;
– Consolidation of academic potential aimed at researching and promoting al-Farabi’s legacy, support for students and young scholars, strengthening the institutional role of the humanities, and positioning the Farabi International Forum as a reputable and sustainable academic brand.

– International Scientific and Practical Conference “Paradigm of Sustainable Economic Development under Global Transformations: Challenges, Implications, and Opportunities” (April 7–8, 2026);
– International Workshop “Responsible AI: Navigating the Future of Kazakh Language Models” (April 9–10, 2026);
– Scientific Round Table “Artificial Intelligence, Media, and Education: An Educated Nation and a Responsible Society” (April 9, 2026);
– Scientific and Practical Conference “Artificial Intelligence and the Humanities: Teaching, Research, and Interdisciplinary Interaction” (April 10, 2026);
– Official Closing Ceremony of the Farabi International Forum (April 11, 2026).
