Psychological and Pedagogical Research in Ensuring Sustainable Development: Prospects and Continuity of Traditions,
On February 27, 2026, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized by the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management, held the International Scientific Conference entitled “Psychological and Pedagogical Research in Ensuring Sustainable Development: Prospects and Continuity of Traditions,” dedicated to the 116th anniversary of the birth of Academician Tolegen Tazhibayev.
The purpose of the event was to discuss current issues in psychology and pedagogy in the context of sustainable development values, to promote the scientific legacy of Academician T.T. Tazhibayev, and to strengthen academic cooperation and exchange of scientific experience among domestic and international scholars.
The conference was attended by scholars from leading universities of Kazakhstan, as well as professors, international experts, young researchers, doctoral students, and master’s students from Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, and China.
Among the distinguished guests were A.E. Tazhibayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Tajikistan; B.D. Sydykhov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University; Yücel Gelişli, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at Gazi University, Turkey (online); D.S. Ermakov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at RUDN University, Russia; Kh.I. Abdurakhmonov, Head of the Department of Social Sciences at Tashkent Pharmaceutical University, PhD (online); as well as A.A. Maulenov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Director of the Zhambyl Research Center for Kazakh Folklore and Literature; and Zholmukhan Turkpen-Uly, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the plenary session, participants discussed the scientific and pedagogical legacy of Academician T.T. Tazhibayev, his contribution to the development of pedagogical and psychological sciences, modern approaches to improving the quality of education, the role of psychological and pedagogical research in sustainable development, modernization of higher education, development of professional competencies, and digital transformation of education. Participants delivered meaningful presentations on current educational issues, exchanged scientific opinions, and shared their experiences.
