A Scientific Seminar on Kazakhstani Literature was held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University
On March 3, 2026, a scientific seminar titled “The Works of Kazakhstani Writers in Academic Research” dedicated to International Writers’ Day was held at the Center for Intercultural Communication and World Languages of the Faculty of Philology at al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of SDG 4 “Quality Education.”

The event brought together scholars, faculty members, master’s and PhD students, as well as representatives of the writers’ community.

Welcome remarks were delivered by Dean of the Faculty Bayan Umirbekovna Dzholdasbekova, Head of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature Alena Sergeevna Demchenko, Vice Consul Marina Sergeevna Simakova, and Director of the Center Saule Bayazovna Begalieva.

A book exhibition featuring works by Kazakhstani writers was organized from the collections of the university library. The exhibition highlighted the literary works of Olzhas Suleimenov, Ilyas Yesenberlin, Bakhyt Kairbekov, Aslan Zhaksylykov, and others.

During the seminar, research presentations were delivered on modern Kazakhstani prose, intercultural communication, the poetics of literary texts, and methods of teaching literature.

Particular interest was drawn to the presentations by writers and literary figures, including Svetlana Viktorovna Ananyeva, Aslan Zhamelievich Zhaksylykov, Lyudmila Lazareva, Lyudmila Vasilievna Safronova, and Yuri Yuryevich Serebryansky, among others.

The seminar became a platform for academic dialogue, exchange of ideas, and discussion of future research prospects in Kazakhstani literature among PhD doctoral students of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature.
