On February 20, 2026, an event on the theme "Religion and Medicine" was held at KazNU. The initiative was carried out within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) No. 3 - "Good health and well-being" and SDG No. 4 - "Quality education" together with students of the 3rd course of the "Religious Studies" specialty.
The purpose of the event is to consider the points of contact between religion and medicine, to analyze the relationship between a person's religious faith and medical decisions, as well as to develop students' critical thinking and professional outlook.
During the meeting, the participants discussed specific cases related to the refusal of medical care on religious grounds, and considered the problem of the relationship between freedom of religion and the human right to life.
At the end of the discussion, the students gave an ethical and legal assessment of the interaction of religion and medicine, exchanged opinions on current issues and developed their own positions.
The event was held at a high level: students showed activity, argued their views and demonstrated interest in the topic.
