Festive Evening for International Students at KazNU

On the eve of International Women's Day, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a gala evening dedicated to international students. The event served as a clear testament to the university's commitment to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and the creation of an inclusive environment for the comprehensive development of youth.

The celebration was opened by Vice-Rector for Sustainable Social Development Bakytzhan Omarov. Delivering congratulations on behalf of Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev, he noted the perseverance and creative energy of the young women who not only excel in their studies but also actively participate in scientific and social projects.

Special attention was given to the students of the Faculty of Pre-university Education. For many of them, this was their first major celebration at the university, marking an important step in their socio-cultural adaptation. The young women shared delightful impressions, noting that the atmosphere of warmth and hospitality made them feel like part of a large university family. The highlight of the evening was a touching gesture — every girl was presented with a flower, adding a special touch of spring tenderness to the event.

The concert program turned into a true kaleidoscope of cultures. Musical performances and sketches showcased the traditions of various countries, turning the holiday into a platform for intercultural dialogue (SDG 17). Students from our faculty watched the performances of their compatriots and peers with enthusiasm, noting that such events inspire them toward further studies and an active life in Kazakhstan.

This evening proved once again that education at KazNU goes beyond academic disciplines; it is about fostering mutual respect, recognizing talent, and supporting every student on their journey to success.
