On March 5, 2026, at the Faculty of Philology, a curatorial (educational) hour titled “Mother is Destiny, Mother is Life” was held with 3rd-year students majoring in “6B01701 – Kazakh Language and Literature” as part of the 4th direction of the SDGs. The event was organized by graduate students: A. Aitbayeva and A. Zhumabaikyzy. The session began with warm greetings.
Mother…
In this word of only three letters lies an entire universe.
Mother is the beginning of life.
Mother is the source of kindness and compassion.
Mother is the symbol of endless love.
There is a saying:
“Even if you carry your mother to Mecca three times on your back, you still cannot repay the debt of her mother’s milk.”
The event continued with the touching melody “Ana.”
Then the activity moved to a question-and-answer discussion:
1. What is the first word that comes to your mind when you hear the word “mother”?
2. What is the most important lesson your mother has taught you?
3. What are you currently doing for your mother?
4. If you had the chance to say only one word to your mother today, what would it be?
To encourage reflection, students watched a short excerpt from the film “Peiyish (Heaven)”, which deeply portrays the relationship between a mother and her child.
After watching the film, students discussed the following questions:
1. What is the main quality of the mother shown in the film?
2. If you were in the place of the main character, what would you do?
3. What thoughts did the film inspire in you?
The educational hour continued with a final reflection:
Sometimes we dream of achieving great success.
But when we reach that success, the first person who rejoices for us is our mother.
And if we stumble, the first person who comforts us is also our mother.
At the end of the session, students were given small cards titled “A Letter to My Mother.” Within 3–4 minutes, they wrote down their sincere feelings.
The educational hour made students reflect deeply and offered guidance for their future.
