OPEN LESSON WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE

Within the framework of the pedagogical practice conducted from January 19 to March 28, 2026, on March 17, 2026, a first-year doctoral student of the educational program 8D02305 – “Foreign Philology (Turkish Language)” of the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Nursulu Sulekulkova conducted an open lesson on the subject “Teaching Listening in a Foreign (Eastern) Language” on the topic “Hayattaki en önemli seçim”.

The aim of the open lesson was to develop and improve students’ listening competence, as well as to enhance their ability to perceive, understand, interpret, and analyze information in a foreign (Turkish) language, and to strengthen their communicative competence.

The structure of the lesson was organized in accordance with modern educational requirements and was based on cognitive and communicative approaches. During the lesson, comprehensive work with listening materials was carried out, and students were engaged in the semantic analysis of the texts. Through question-and-answer activities, discussions, and problem-solving tasks, students’ critical thinking and speaking skills were actively developed.

In addition, situational tasks were used to organize dialogue-building activities aimed at developing practical language competencies. Interactive teaching technologies and game elements were effectively applied during the lesson, contributing to increased cognitive engagement and learning motivation among students.

During the discussion of the open lesson, faculty members and students participated in a comprehensive analysis of its scientific and methodological level. Acting Head of the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries, Associate Professor A. Khalel, highly appreciated the logical structure of the lesson, the effectiveness of the teaching methods used, the students’ engagement, and the achieved learning outcomes.

In conclusion, the open lesson was recognized as being organized at a high scientific and methodological level and as a model of effective application of modern pedagogical approaches in foreign language teaching. Furthermore, the event serves as an important platform for the exchange of pedagogical experience and the development of professional competencies.
