“National Clothing – A Reflection of Culture”
On March 18, as part of the Nauryz celebrations, the “National Clothing Day” is observed — one of the special days aimed at promoting the cultural heritage of our people. On this day, every citizen, wearing national attire, expresses respect for the history and traditions of their nation. At the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, the “National Clothing Day” was celebrated at a high level. Faculty members and students dressed in traditional Kazakh clothing, promoting national identity both in the educational process and in everyday activities. This event not only strengthened the unity of the faculty community but also aimed to increase young people’s interest in national values.
National clothing is an important cultural heritage that reflects the way of life of the people, their aesthetic taste, and social status. Kazakh national attire is distinguished by its practicality, adaptability to natural conditions, and unique ornaments. Each element of clothing — kamzol, shapan, saukele, and skullcap — carries its own meaning and indicates age and social characteristics.
The purpose of National Clothing Day is to preserve and promote national values, increase young people’s interest in cultural heritage, promote the traditions and customs of the Kazakh people, and strengthen national identity.
The significance of this day lies not only in wearing national clothing but also in showing respect for history and traditions. Such events contribute to the formation of national consciousness and ensure the continuity of cultural heritage from generation to generation.
The faculty staff, supporting this initiative, intends to continue promoting national values in the future.
