Youth Debate and Open Seminar "Unlimited Opportunities: Inequality in Society"

18 march, 2026

On March 18, 2026, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Philology, hosted an open seminar and youth debate entitled "Unlimited Opportunities: Inequality in Society." This event was conducted as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals implementation, specifically focusing on SDG 10: "Reduced Inequalities," aiming to discuss social disparities and foster critical thinking among students.

The seminar was attended by faculty members, 3rd-year undergraduate students, Master's students, and Doctoral candidates. During the session, participants explored the causes and manifestations of social inequality in modern society. It was noted that inequality impacts not only the economic sector but also access to education, culture, the linguistic environment, and general social opportunities.

The debate covered key issues such as social stratification, gender and cultural differences, and factors influencing the future prospects of young people. The interactive nature of the seminar allowed participants to share their views and engage in a dialogue on how to overcome social barriers. The event succeeded in broadening the participants' perspectives and fostering a conscious attitude toward pressing social issues and civic responsibility.

Organizers: Senior Lecturer of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory A.Z. Kaibuldayeva and 1st-year Doctoral student L. Amirova.
