Environmental Culture in the Educational Environment
Today, environmental issues are a global concern. Ecological culture is no longer limited to environmental protection alone; it has become an essential part of everyday life. This is especially evident in educational institutions, as it is within this environment that young people’s attitudes toward nature are formed. Therefore, the environmental quality of educational institutions becomes a foundation for the sustainable development of future society.
An important component of ecological culture is plant care, including soil renewal. By directions 4 “Quality education” and 6 “Clean water and sanitation” of Sustainable Development Goals, on March 18, 2026, at the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, students of the Department of Publishing, Editing, and Design organized an environmental event. During the event, students planted flowers and carried out soil renewal work.
During the activity, the old soil of the plants was removed and replaced with new soil enriched with fertilizers. This clearly demonstrated the importance of proper plant care.
The event not only increased students’ environmental responsibility but also contributed to promoting a culture of environmental protection. Thanks to such initiatives, the role of ecological culture in society continues to grow.
