SDG 15. “Green Space” Environmental Challenge: A Joint Initiative of Students and Faculty
At the Department of Pre-University Training of the Faculty of Pre-University Education, an environmental challenge titled “Green Space” was organized with the aim of fostering ecological culture and increasing environmental responsibility among students and faculty members.
As part of the challenge, participants carried out greening activities within the academic building, replanted flowers in recreation areas, improved soil composition, and enhanced its fertility. These activities contributed to the development of practical skills in environmentally responsible behavior among learners.
In addition, faculty members effectively integrated this initiative into the educational process by delivering lectures and organizing discussions on environmental issues. This integration helped establish a connection between theoretical knowledge and practical application, thereby enhancing students’ environmental literacy.
One of the key features of the “Green Space” challenge was the strengthening of team spirit. During the event, students and faculty worked collaboratively, demonstrating examples of cooperation and mutual support. This, in turn, had a positive impact on the development of the institution’s internal culture.
This challenge is not viewed as a one-time activity, but rather as a sustainable and meaningful initiative aimed at making environmental awareness a part of everyday life and uniting students and faculty.
