A series of lectures continued at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the Science Week.

The speaker of the third day of the events was an outstanding scientist, Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarkhan Kaltaev.

Before the lecture, Chairman of the Board Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a special reception for the outstanding scientist. During the meeting, the head of the university noted the painstaking work of the academician in the development of domestic science and expressed appreciation for the valuable lectures intended for the younger generation. Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev solemnly presented Academician Aidarkhan Kaltayev with the university's highest award, the Farabi Gold Medal.

After the award ceremony, a scientific meeting was held in the university's scientific library, which was attended by students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, young researchers and doctoral students. The academician's lecture on "Modeling reactive flows at low, medium and high Reynolds and Mach numbers" became a point of contact between fundamental science and practice.

During the lecture, the scientist focused on the most complex issues of gas dynamics, demonstrating ways to overcome errors that occur in standard systems of equations at low Mach numbers. The professor scientifically proved the effectiveness of the transition to an intermediate model of dynamically incompressible gas in modeling deflagration gorenje.

Academician Aidarkhan Kaltaev did not limit himself to theory and presented the unique results of his research group. In particular, the participants were greatly interested in the research of flame propagation in closed areas of complex geometry, conducted jointly with doctoral student Zh.Ualiev. It was also noted that the developed computational model of the transition from conventional combustion to detonation allows comprehensive forecasting of dangerous gas dynamic processes. Gorenje

The scientist paid special attention to the connection of applied science with production, focusing in detail on the physical and mathematical models of underground biochemical leaching of uranium and pyrite. The digital model of uranium extraction by downhole leaching, created by a group of scientists (M.Tungatarova, M.Kurmanseit, N.Shayakhmetov), has already been introduced into production, which opened the way to real-time process control.

The third lecture of the Science Week was held in an interactive format. The young scientists exchanged views with the academician on the creation of 3D models of turbulent flows and the use of high-performance computing on GPU processors.
