Al-Farabi KazNU and the Indian company Refex Group signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of development of renewable energy sources (RES).
It should be noted that the University acts as the UN Hub for Sustainable Development, actively developing a strategy for introducing alternative energy sources, therefore this area is a priority for KazNU.
«The introduction of new types of renewable energy sources on the basis of our University will become a unique base for their further promotion. By creating a demonstration center for alternative energy sources on campus, we can spread our positive experience across Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the Eurasian space», - said Galym Mutanov, Rector of KazNU.
In turn, the executive director of Refex Group Rajagopalan Shailesh emphasized that the University has achieved great achievements in the field of development of innovative technologies. «We have seen all the possibilities of KazNU, visited the industrial park, research laboratories. We are ready to start a successful and mutually beneficial cooperation, starting with the installation of solar panels on the roofs of campus buildings. We are developing this area in India, and are currently promoting it in other countries», - noted Mr. Shailesh.
Refex Group is dealing with the development of solar energy and provides environmentally friendly alternative energy sources in India. The Company has built three of the five best solar power plants in the country, commissioned in accordance with the National Solar Policy, is involved in several projects covering venture capital, rural energy solutions, real estate and entertainment.
