150 years ago, on October 2, 1869, in India, in the state of Gujarat, the Father of the Indian nation, a political and public figure, author of the ideology of Ahimsa, Satyagrah Mahatma Gandhi was born. According to the great poet and writer, composer and artist, Rabindranath Tagore, Gandhi was a great man who proved himself to the whole world, proving that you can win without bloodshed and violence. He called the world to peace and opposed the caste and racist system. At the celebration of the birthday of such a great man, a democratic country like Kazakhstan never stood aside. According to tradition, on this celebrated day, a festive event dedicated to the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi was held in the park of Mahatma Gandhi in Almaty. The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Kazakhstan, Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Honorary Consul of India in Almaty, Mr. Martin Clemens, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Indian Cultural Center, Mr. Sanjay Garg, guests from the Almaty City and Akimat and dean of the faculty Oriental Studies al-Farabi KazNU. Mr. Y.M. Paltore. Each guest made a speech about the path of Mahatma Gandhi, who called for peace not only India, but the whole world. During the festive event, songs were sung, students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University read verses and aphorisms in Hindi, dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.The event influenced us, the young generation, to get acquainted with the life of such a great man, to imitate his kindness and friendship. The name of Mahatma Gandhi, who bent the whole world with kindness and generosity, will undoubtedly remain on the pages of history as a great personality with a capital letter.
