Postdoctoral students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University received nominations for the Scopus Award Kazakhstan - 2019, established by the largest scientific publishing house Elsevier.
This year, the nomination entitled «Best Paper of the Year» was awarded to a group of scientists from Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom, which included an assistant professor of cartography and geoinformatics at Al-Farabi KazNU Asima Galymzhankyzy Koshim.
The Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Professor Zayadan Bolatkhan Kazykhanuly has won the nomination «Top Researcher in Engineering and Technologies», the Head of the Department of Business Technology, Professor Ziyadin Sayabek Tattibekuly has been awarded in the nomination «Top Researcher in Social Sciences».
Postdoctoral students of KazNU also demonstrate high rates of publication activity. Therefore, post-doctoral student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Zhandos Moldabekov has been awarded in the nomination «Young Researcher of the Year», and post-doctoral student of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology Ayimgul Kerimrai has been awarded in the nomination «Women in Science Award».
In addition, the Eurasian Chemico-Technological Journal of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has received the Scopus Award.
Thus, scientists of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have became winners in six nominations of «Scopus Award Kazakhstan – 2019», which is an objective assessment of the scientific performance of University researchers. The implemented policy of publishing scientific papers in top-rated journals, bonus articles based on quartiles of scientific publications, increasing collaboration with foreign scientists, the introduction of post-doctoral studies and other measures have pledged high rates of publication activity and citation in international databases.
The annual prize is awarded to the most cited and published scientists based on information from the international «Scopus» database.
