Cooperation continues between the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after al-Farabi and the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Tokyo. In order to exchange between the two universities, the head of the department of the Far East visited the Korean Studies Center at the University of Tokyo.
The agreement on cooperation between the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after Al-Farabi and the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Tokyo determined the areas of joint work. One of them is scientific research on the project of grant financing of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Mediator functions of the diaspora in relations between Kazakhstan and the ethnic homeland." During a visit to Tokyo University, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of the Far East, N.B. She read a lecture course, including a specialized lecture for students in graduate and doctoral studies.
In her speech, the lecturer presented the history of the Korean diaspora in Kazakhstan against the background of the history of Kazakhsta's multinational society. The large-scale historiographic base, archival materials in the interpretation of Russian-speaking researchers of Korean studies of the CIS countries aroused keen interest of the audience. Particular attention was drawn to the phenomenon of Kazakhstani state building and the role of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan in it.
After the lecture, a discussion took place, and during the discussions it was decided to visit a special research team in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
According to Director of the Center for Korean Studies of the Institute of Advanced Global Studies of the University of Tokyo, Professor TONOMURA Masaru, the teachers of the Department of the Far East were selected as the executors of projects on Korean studies at the University of Tokyo.
