The Flagship of Progressive Development
The reporting presentations of the Institute of Information Technologies and Innovative Development and the Student Laboratory for Design and Development of System Integration were held at KazNU with the participation of the Chairman of JSC «Science Foundation» A.A. Orsariyev.
Al-Farabi KazNU, prior to positioning itself as a research University, was the flagship of progressive developments that were adopted by other HEIs.
The report presentation highlighted the achievements made in a short period of time. For example, the system Univer 2.0. developed by the University programmers has already confirmed its relevance by sales indicators - in 123 million tenge. «Our system – Univer 2.0 differs from our competitors in that it has the ability to integrate with other resources, for example, 1C, with Active Directory, which is an absolute advantage», – says E. Kistaubaev.
During the introduction of emergency situations in Kazakhstan, KazNU was the first to offer its customers the service of online proctoring. Despite the fact that American equivalents have long made themselves known in the market, they have not been able to integrate in our country. Currently, all University professors successfully use the Univer 2.0. system and its supplement JinalysRoom, the pilot version of which is already being used at one of the Faculties.
The second presentation by the Student Laboratory for System Integration Design and Development was equally impressive. Since 2018, Yedil Nurakhov, head of the Laboratory, has been developing a software and hardware complex to control and monitor laboratory equipment. «This device is designed to control access to resource-intensive equipment, to monitor the environment of various types of premises, as well as to account for the time of use of equipment, on the basis of which it is possible to increase the efficiency of its work», – says E. Nurakhov.
The aspirations of our scientists are such that it is planned to produce and sell domestic devices. There is already a partner from Belarus, Promwad, an independent electronics design center with its own plants. The device has been tested in the SmartHelth Clinical and Diagnostic Centre. «Our devices now work effectively in two higher education institutions – the medical institution of KazNU and the University of International Business; in this institution we put the devices in the server room and continuously monitor the temperature, showing data on energy consumption, server workload, etc. At KazNU we perform the same functions and provide access accounting to the Departments», – said E. Nurakhov.
The presentations impressed the Chairman of the JSC «Science Foundation» A.A. Orsariyev. He noted that «the amount of sales of the Univer 2.0 system proves that it is in high demand».
