The Decisive Role of the International-Anti-Nuclear Movement «Nevada-Semey»
On 19 October 2020, at 1,200 p.m., the youth organization Nevada-Semey of Al-Farabi KazNU will hold a roundtable discussion on «The decisive role of Nevada-Semey International-Anti-Nuclear Movement and its leader Olzhas Suleimenov in ending nuclear testing in Kazakhstan and closing the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site», which will be held at the ZOOM platform.
On 1 November 2016, the youth of Al-Farabi KazNU, with the support of Rector Galym Mutanov, established the Nevada-Semey youth movement.
As part of the activities of the youth organization, a plan was developed to promote the ideas of the Nevada-Semey movement in order to unite young people from all over Kazakhstan to solve environmental problems associated with the consequences of nuclear weapons testing.
The round table will consider the history of the explosions at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site and the achievements of the Nevada-Semipalatinsk movement over 25 years.
The round table will be attended by Deputy Chairman of the International Anti-Nuclear Movement Nevada-Semipalatinsk Efim Lvovich Zuslin, Executive Secretary of the International-Anti-Nuclear Movement
Nevada-Semipalatinsk Aliya Makhmetovna Bekmagambetova, veterans of the anti-nuclear movement, the teachers of UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Development, representatives of the youth organization Nevada-Semey of Al-Farabi KazNU.
