On November 27, 2020, at 15.00 (Nur-Sultan time, Kazakhstan), an online social and educational event "the Great son of the Great steppe" will be held within the framework of international cooperation, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the encyclopedic scientist Abu Nasr al-Farabi. The event is organized by the Department of General linguistics and European languages of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty, Kazakhstan, https://www.kaznu.kz/), Institute of foreign languages of the The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, Russia, http://inyaz.rudn.ru/), Faculty of literature, Istanbul University (Istanbul, Turkey) (https://edebiyat.istanbul.edu.tr/tr/).
This year, the entire progressive world community is celebrating the 1150th anniversary of the genius of Eastern medieval thought, al-Farabi. The anniversary of the great thinker of the East is included in the UNESCO calendar of memorable dates and events and will be widely celebrated on international cultural platforms with the support of ISESCO, the OIC, TURKSOY and other organizations. The thinker once said: "if you want to know the future of the country, show me your youth, and I will predict your future." Studying the legacy of al-Farabi about the intellectual and moral improvement of a person, the younger generation, will certainly contribute to the harmonization of society.
The aim of the event: to unite the younger generation from different countries to express reverence and respect for the spiritual heritage of the great thinker of the middle ages, scientist and philosopher Abu Nasr al-Farabi, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of world science and civilization.
Tasks:
a) to remember the heritage of al-Farabi, the great scientist, thinker of the East, mathematician, astrologer, music theorist, follower of the teachings of Aristotle;
b) to convey the ideas of al-Farabi about the welfare of the country, of humanity, of science the next generation;
c) to teach the younger generation to think comprehensively, to preserve and transmit the rich heritage accumulated over the centuries.
