Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated the onset of spring by organizing “Korisu kuni” - a bright and cheerful event that marked the onset of Nauryz.

The bright, spring holiday of Korisu kuni - the holiday of Amal with the revival of national traditions - has firmly entered the life of Kazakhstanis. Once upon a time on this day in the Kazakh steppe, the number of livestock was counted and congratulated each other on the onset of warm, fine days. Today it is customary to meet with relatives and friends, greeting with a handshake, warm hugs and the words “Bir zhasynyzben!”, forgive insults, dress up in festive clothes, cover the dastarkhan and give gifts.

KazNU picked up the baton, within the framework of the "Week of Nauryz" giving start to festive events on the occasion of the meeting of spring.

The words of blessing were uttered by the mythical character Kydyr Ata, wishing everyone health, peace and kindness. The talented youth of KazNU organized a concert with a rich program.

It began with a dramatization of the ancient national tradition tusaukeser - cutting the fetters. Further, the participants of the holiday were able to enjoy the art of the student show-ballet "Bakhyt", who performed the dance "Kosalka". The ensemble of folk instruments "Farabi Sazy" performed the kui of Dauletkerei "Koroglu" and Kurmangazy "Aday".

Vocal talents delighted the audience with the 3rd year student of the Faculty of Philology Ganibet Yesetova, the performers of the ART Center and the 3rd year student of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management Asel Chaban. The duet of kobyzists performed the composition "Inkarim-ay".

A warm atmosphere reigned at the festival, the audience sang along with the performers, danced and talked. “I study at the Faculty of General Medicine,” shared his impressions of 4th year student Hashim Shavkat. – I was very pleased with this event. Somehow it reminded me of the holidays that are held in my homeland, in Afghanistan. And, of course, it looks like a meeting of Nauryz, everyone greets each other, wishing for health and well-being. I am glad that I took an active part in it. For me, these are new acquaintances and positive feelings. I wish all students and my colleagues to know more about the culture of different nationalities, and also to study the culture and history of the Kazakhs in more depth.”

“The holiday is just great. So fun and interesting. I invited friends of a different nationality with me, and they treated us deliciously. The holiday gave us a great mood and an opportunity to meet and talk,” said Aigerim Kadyrova, a first-year student at the Faculty of Journalism.

In continuation of the holiday, the guests were invited to the colorful Zhastar auyly yurt, where they could taste pilaf, nauryz-kozhe and other treats.
