BOOK "POLISH-LITHUANIAN TATARS – HEIRS OF THE GOLDEN HORDE" WAS PRESENTED AT THE KAZNU

The presentation of the book "Polish-Lithuanian Tatars - Heirs of the Golden Horde" by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, poet, journalist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Selim Khazbievich took place in the Scientific Library of the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University.

The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Professor Selim Khazbievich, Dean of the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Dosbol Baygunakov, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Nurzhan Kuantai, Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, First Vice President of the Almaty Diplomatic Club Bakytzhan Bulegenov and others.

Professor Selim Khazbievich is a Polish Tatar by origin, as well as a descendant of Khan Tokhtamysh, who ruled the Golden Horde. In his book he traces the history of the Polish Tatars from the time of the Golden Horde nomads, whose successors are also Kazakhs, Tatars, Nogai, Karakalpaks. A part of the nomadic people that separated from the Golden Horde six centuries ago was called "Tatars" in the history of Poland. Gradually they settled in Eastern Europe, about 2.5 thousand Tatars live in Poland. Today the descendants of these nomads preserve Turkic origin.
