KAZNU STRENGTHENS TIES WITH TASHKENT INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY
A delegation of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology (TICT) visited KazNU on a working visit and discussed issues of strengthening partnership between universities.
The honorary guests were welcomed by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev. In his speech, the rector noted that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has close ties with 13 universities of Uzbekistan. KazNU successfully cooperates with the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology. "Further partnership is expected in the field of joint research, in particular in the areas of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Food Technology, as well as academic exchange and internships, joint management of the work of undergraduates and doctoral students," the head of the university stressed.
Currently, 108 undergraduate and graduate students from the Republic of Uzbekistan are studying at KazNU, 85 of them are under the state educational grant and 23 study on a contractual basis. Last year undergraduates of KazNU completed a scientific internship at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology under the educational program "Chemical Technology of Organic Substances".
It is planned that the staff of the TICT will participate in the international scientific and practical conference "Modern Trends of Higher Education and Science in the Field of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering", which will be held at the KazNU in May this year.
At the meeting, Peter McGann, Advisor to the Rector for Strategic Planning and Development of TICT, emphasized the importance of cooperation with KazNU in the field of science and education and expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation, implement joint projects and initiatives.
The meeting ended with an exchange of views and discussion of prospects for further partnership.
