Prominent Russian Journalism researcher Andrei Richter has visited KazNU
During 4-8th of April 2009 KazNU Journalism Faculty students and teachers were able to take part in master-classes and seminars of Andrei Richter. He is leading professor of Moscow State University, Director of “History of Homeland Mass-media” Cathedra and the author of “Legal Foundation of Journalism” textbook.
Lectures and consultations of professor were dedicated to the actual legal problems of nowadays mass-media, to the online journalism and to the foreign press.
Very first day of Andrei Richter’s visit was very busy. Great amount of students has gathered in classroom 230th in order to listen to “Media Law of Russia and Kazakhstan” lecture. The electronic lecture “Problems of Online Journalism” also was highly appreciated.
In general, Andrei Richter has worked with Doctoral students of KazNU Journalism Faculty. They discussed such topics as: “Freedom of Press”, “Terrorism, Extremism and Mass-media”, “Legal Regulation of the Internet” and so on. Dr. Richter is planning to initiate various joint projects regarding research in the field of Printed and Online Journalism of Kazakhstan.
On April 7th Journalism Faculty held “Media Law during Emerging of Digital TV” roundtable, which was organized by KazNU International Journalism Cathedra. There were many Broadcasting experts among participants. Some of the prominent discussants were: CEO of “Internews” Marzhan Yelshibayeva, President of “Zhurnalisty v bede” Foundation Rozlana Taukina, Executive Director of National Broadcasters Association Sholpan Zhaksybayeva, and journalist Galina Dyrdina.
Roundtable was moderated by the Dean of KazNU Journalism Faculty, Professor Galiya Zhunusovna Ibrayeva, who is the author of numerous Mass-media researches.
Visit of such famous, worldwide recognized professor as Andrei Richter is very important event both for students and teachers of Kazakh National University.
