In November 2012 the Higher School of Economics and Business of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, organized and hosted an international conference dedicated to the discussion of the current status and development trends of the "CIS Network University".


The "CIS Network University" was initiated in PFUR in 2008. The project is supported Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS. The consortium of Network University includes 22 top universities from nine countries: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.

In the 2011-2012 academic year, top universities of Russia have adopted 163 students from eight Commonwealth countries to study in the framework of the CIS Network University, including more than 40 masters from Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

At the conference have acted: scientists of universities of Almaty, Kazakhsta's young scientists, visitors from the CIS countries. During the conference addressed the main directions of training on academic mobility, questions have been raised to improve the interaction between higher education institutions of the CIS. Noting the special role of network interaction of universities of the CIS countries in today's economy, it was decided to increase the number of universities of member countries and the further implementation of mobility, requiring constant control of conformity of partner universities.
