National annual competition of political science students’ research works
In nominating papers in political science students to participate in the II stage of the competition university sends to the base university in the appropriate section of the competition the following documents:
1) research work;
2) annotation of research work (Appendix 1);
3) a review of the supervisor about the degree of self-sufficiency of the work (in any form);
4) information about the author(s) and the supervisor (Appendix 2);
5) a letter signed by the rector (prorector) on the competition first phase results or the decision of the Academic Council of the university on the nomination of the research work to the competition issued by the protocol (Appendix 3).
The first copies of students’ research works have to be presented to the Students’ scientific and research works competition printed in half of the interval. At least 20 pages scope of work is must. Layouts and natural exhibits presentation is not allowed. Drawings and illustrations attached to the work should be arranged on standard sized pages.
To the research work might be attached the acts (copies of the acts) on the implementation of the research work results, copies of patents and research articles. Theses, term papers and projects can be submitted to the competition if they have research novelty or are considering the implementation of their results in the production or the educational process.
The information about the author(s) and the research supervisor(s), as well as a letter signed by the rector (prorector) on the outcome of the first round of open competition or the decision of the Academic Council of the university on the nomination of the research work to the competition has to be presented in a separate sealed package. In case if the work is done by a team, list of authors has to be presented in accordance with their personal contribution.
In case of submission of works that do not meet the requirements, the Competition may reject these works from the participation.
Competition Commission of Political Science makes decision by open vote and by a majority of votes in the presence at the meeting at least two thirds of the Commission at the meeting of Academic advisory board decided. In case of an equal number of votes, the Chairman’s vote shall be decisive.
In case of nominating the best research works of students to participate in the III stage of the competition Academic advisory board of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University forwards them to the Republican Political Science commission of the Ministry issued by the protocol of the Academic advisory board’s session before April 2.
